Our design engineering team works on a variety of solutions to make servers faster and more secure. The Board Group, which is based in Cambridge, specialises in High Speed Design and develops Network Adapters. The Group is responsible for complete product development, and this includes hardware design, board bring up, bills of materials optimisation, managing regulatory compliance and transferring production to Contract Manufacturers in the Far East. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and training in all aspects of the product development lifecycle.
Initially, you will gain familiarity with the CAD/simulation tools and support the factory with product releases and providing sustaining support. You will learn about the PCIE standard and participate in executing design validation plans and component engineering. Over time, you will become expert in board design having gained expertise in high speed design and use of PCB Layout tools. Being able to demonstrate your prior skills and knowledge in these areas is a significant advantage.
You will be a top calibre graduate candidate with a strong academic background in electronic design combined with a PhD, first class or 2:1 degree from a well ranked university. In addition, you will have completed a project, where you would have designed an electronic subsystem using appropriate CAD and Simulation tools in the areas of Networking/High speed design.
